The University Restaurant (RU) is a supplementary unity of UFSC linked to PRAE. Its main purpose is to serve meals to UFSC students. The restaurant helps improve its users’ health by providing balanced and diversified meals, produced under patterns of quality control, and considering the variation of food habits existing in our state. It also contributes to the promotion of quality of teaching, research and outreach by offering possibilities of internship to different courses.
The menu is weekly planned and prepared, taking into account the price, the correct storage, and the reception of provisions used to prepare the meals. The suppliers are previously selected through a reverse audit type of bid, with the aim to guarantee the quality of the supplies used.
